The job was to create 26 stories, one for each letter of the alphabet and that would repeat sounds. This is the story for the letter C. The art was painted by (of course!) Marci.

Cathy the Cat

by
Gene B. Williams

Calvin has a cat
The cat is named Cathy
Cathy has claws
That she keeps in her paws
Cathy has fur
That you pet for a purr
Cathy came home
From an afternoon roam
She'd climbed in a tree
While chasing a bee
Then jumped on a cricket
So fast that she kicked it!
But then she came back
From her cricket attack
And rubbed on his arm
All cuddly and warm
A fierce tiger no more
Just a cat on the floor
